TEACHING YOU WHAT TEACHES US…
A Virtual Immersion into the Path of Transformation
Many of us are being called to change and transform in order to contribute to our lives and communities in more fruitful and regenerative ways.
This sacred container invites you to expand our collective understanding of stepping into a medicine path with mother nature through the lens of Ubungoma (a southern African way of healing). Drawing from our shared experiences on this evolving journey, we aim to offer insight and clarity into the transformative process, helping us embrace change with resilience.
[ A prerequisite for folks interested in our Leopard & Jaguar Rites of Passage. ]
Join our 6-part series as we delve into medicine path of our Bantu ancestors…
We’ll explore Ubungoma: cultural and nature centered approaches to healing:
What is illness? How did our ancestors view the mind, body, spirit?
Ways to be in integrity in the spiritual path?
We’ll delve into:
the medicines that dream us - bring instructions and teachings from our ancestors.
What it means to enter the cave of rites of passages.
An exploration of the darkness of the cave, what it reveals and supportive teachings on how to hunt in the dark and navigate the ebbs and flows of working with teaching plants.
We'll explore how our ancestors walk with us on a healing path;
how their identities, stories and experiences inform our calling into birth new legacies.
Integration
workshop participant reflections:
I have had the privilege of the guidance of Gogo Ekhaya in the past. I have felt the call to further my study and self-development by continuing on this path. Listening to the knowledge that was shared resulted in a flooding of songs into my awareness and precipitated vibrations in my chest/heart. I would like to continue my journey and see where the calling leads."

Though we offer these teachings, indigenous wisdom unfolds beyond human control, revealing itself through experience, struggle, surrender, and revelation. True wisdom is not always accessed on demand, nor can it be contained within monetary exchange. Your contributions in this space help uphold the integrity of indigenous wisdom, bless our elders with abundance, and sustain these practices within a world that often seeks to exploit and commodify them. We desire to give and serve as we are supported, ensuring that these traditions remain alive with honor, depth, and reciprocity.

Gogo Ekhaya & Gogo Thule, co-founders of the Makhosi Foundation will guide an open-hearted space. Makhosi Foundation is led by black, diasporic, female healers who underwent a form of cultural reclamation through an African-Indigenous initiation to transform into iSangoma: traditional healers, ceremonialists, and wisdom keepers.
Gogo Thule and Gogo Ekhaya accepted their calling to become iSangoma and went through Ukuthwasa, a form of spiritual death and awakening in 2013. Gogo (grandmother in Zulu) identifies one as a carrier of ancestral wisdom with the ability to guide and provide ceremonial remedies.
